With the ever-rising popularity of technology and gaming, it is no wonder that the youth of today can learn so much so fast. Gaming is a wonderful way to access the imagination, however can also lead us astray. By exploring this coming of age story through physical theatre, I hope to bring these gaming characters to life – to teach, encourage and remind you that a bit of kindness goes a long way. Inspired by the teachings of Tadashi Suzuki, and highly influenced by Japanese popular culture, gaming and anime – Akio! Is a powerful anti-bullying story to be enjoyed by all ages.
